| Well if you have seen my previous thread you will know that "Custard" my yellow lupo has died, more on that see my last thread Sooo, "Long live Steve" the silver mk2 arosa. I believe this car has a thread already, previously owned by a good mate "Jak". Bought it at the weekend on an 03 plate with just shy of 60,000 miles; got a few freebies with it in the sale as well; set of Ronal LS's 15 x 7.5 (few flat spots but not too unrepairable), sportex back box (anyone want to buy it?), bonnet bra (again if you want it give me a shout), lupo rear lights, pressed plates and a few gamma radios. Haven't got many pictures atm with the weather and it being dark when i get home but will get some up . thats Steve Dont you just love VAG , mk2 hidden under the snow Had a few issues with the power or lack of on the Arosa, and not the usual "I only have 50 asthmatic horse under the bonnet"; it felt like the car was choking and as if the throttle response wasn't there until the pedal was nearly on the floor. So i cracked on tonight with the usual suspects of throttle body and plugs. i might add it was pissing down at this point haha. havnt seen a body this filthy since my ragged old 99000 mile mk1 cracked on with the carb cleaner and a old cloth nice and shiny ... missed a few bits but it was not budging and wasnt effecting the flap so just left it the shit that came out of it :/ Also whilst cleaning it noticed that the servo air feed pipe has a few splits in it :/ will have to sort that soon.

| when hopefully i can make an impressionwith it .. will price up the postage this week and offer you a price mate if thats alright?. Noticed as well thta the vacuum pipe from intake to brake servo has a few splits near the join at intake; apparently there was a product recall for this and the car is 10year old in june, reckon its worth a trip to the dealers to save me the cost if possible? | |

| Yea fella, if you can get free things done by the dealer then do it, I think the paint warranty is 10-12 years as well
And cool about the bra, there's no rush and yea just let me know a price for it and postage | |

| Yeah it's up about half a mile from me.. But best to move on ha So, thought I might have solved the throttle issue and not really.. EML came back on today although it hasn't since I erased it again; car revs to 1200-1500 when I start it now and idles at about 1000 so bit high for my liking... Going to strip the intake manifold and piping down when i get time, maybes this weekend and see if I can get it sussed Also, fuel consumption is a little high, 55 - 65 miles out of a tenner when I use to get 75 solid in the lupo and fuel prices havint changed that much :/ probabilistic same issue as EML stating with get valve To end on another bad not, my servo vacuum hose leading from the intake to the servo is split so no wonder the brakes are a bit off, but I am still over the not with the car | |

| Well, bit of an update.... got time today to fit the new wishbones and ball joints The old ball joints were just slopping around; totally shagged and the rear bushes were starting to tear so all sorted now. Somehow when dropping the car back on its wheels it seems to sit a tad lower feels soo unnatural to drive a standard height arosa, dont know how people live without adjustable goodness

| Well ball joints were fucked, still need to clean eft valve out as its a bit dodgie with idling, the thrust bearing is rattling its ends of and I think ccm module has gone with the remote locking not working, and nee good mate, will bring some tools to next meet if you want for battery | |
