Thanks man. Yeah tbh the springs are FK and as far as I'm aware they pretty short springs anyway. Helpers coming out on Saturday I think. The more I have it and look at it the more I like how it looks. Once the helpers are out I think it's time to start looking at spacers to nail the stance but apart from that I think I'm going to keep the black trim because I saw one all colour coded and it looked too big and plain with nothing to break up the big panels.
totally bro this will look sick with a bit more of a square stance to it with a bit of spacing.
you say this but I personally think with it being that red the colour coding, not necessarily smoothing, would make it look well clean. like a good perfected car look if you get me? rather than like a "modified car" look.
Thanks mate. It does look better in person just the tuck of the skinny wheels looks horrid and the car don't look nice from certain angles but my new wheels (after VW fest) should sort that problem out
Yeah but still more than i can afford at the min, moving house again and little one takes up all me money lol!
Anyway... today with the weather being decent i decided to whop out the machine polisher and get some work done on the fabia. Used the following:
- Meguires Ultimate Compound (DO NOT BUY, ABSOLUTE GASH) - Meguires Deep Crystal Stage 1 Cleanser - Meguires Deep Crystal Stage 2 Polish (2 coats, 1 hour gap between each) - Meguires Deep Crystal Stage 3 Carnuba Wax (On 3 panels before i ran out )
Didnt really bother with before shots because tbf the difference isnt drastic as my car is always clean
Looking good! but i do have to disagree on megs ultimate compound, i love it! With your machine try cutting with megs 105 or something (if its reasonably bad swirls anyway) then refine on a polishing pad with ultimate compound and it should give great results! Unless you were cutting with UC, then i understand your pain takes a lot of work to remove swirls with it from scratch! (no pun intended)
Well i went for that because the swirls are really faint and not bad but wanted them out. Not the best i have used tbh. think i will try that stuff for the next polish before VW Fest.
another quick snap i just took because the reflection looked nice
I dont know about Skoda, but VW paint is notoriously hard and has to be worked for a lot longer than most others to cut swirls out fully, how long are you concentrating on an area for and what pad/speed are you using? DA or rotary?
