buggered lock

Went to lock my driver side door the other night and tge lock was stiff, jiggled it about a bit and the key was just spinning in the lock! Took it to my mates garage nd he says the craddle behind the lock has snapped (common fault ob vws aparrently) but he cant get the part to fix it! I have to go and get it fron main dealer! Anyone know where i can get this part? Or even what its called so i dont look like a twat when im asking!

Same happened to my lupo but i sold it befpre i managed to get it fixed. I was told the same about mine qhen i done the same

this is usually the problem, internals oxodise and break apart. wuick fix

So where do i go from here? Must be a cheaper way than goin to main dealer?!

door lock repair kit from the dealer, it's about a fiver!
